Striped Bass are found in many places in San Francisco Bay, and up into the delta. Trolling is the most popular fishing method for stripers, and the best fishing is on a strong incoming tide after a low low tide.
Stripers are caught year-round in San Pablo Bay, Carquinez Strait, and Suisun Bay. Striper spots in the central bay, generally good in the summer and fall, include the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge, Raccoon Strait over Raccoon Shoal, the Berkeley flats, off Alcatraz and Treasure Islands.
The recreational fishery for striped bass is open year-round, with a daily limit of two fish and a minimum size of 18 inches.
